Clinical Director

As the clinical director Angela established Head2Toe in 2010 after graduating from Salford University with  degree in Sports Rehabilitation. Throughout her degree Angela worked with amateur, semi professional and professional athletes from a range of sports,  including football, rugby and numerous professional dance studios within the North West.

Angela is a full member for the British Association of Sports Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT). For health and social care BASRaT hold an accredited voluntary register through the Professional Standards Authority (PSA)  which is set up by the Department of Health and administered by an independent body. This means that our work within sports rehabilitation is accountable to and recognised as a health care profession by Parliament.

Since graduating Angela has become a specialist within the musculoskeletal diagnosis and treatment expanding her knowledge into Pilates, Antenatal and Post Natal care and continues to strive to keep up to date with current theories.

Angela has been involved with the world of sport and the arts for around 20 years being a fellowship member of the International Dance Teachers Assocition for the last 12 years. Being an ex-professional dancer and now dance teacher, she understands the importance of optimal muscle movement and function. With this in mind Angela developed the clinics fundamental principals treating the patient as a whole person not just a condition.

Angela is available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays as well as Wednesday mornings.

Managing Director and Sports Rehabilitator

Laura Hodgson is a Graduate Sports Rehabilitator since 2011 with a Masters in Football Rehabilitation. She has worked in both clinics and sporting environments since graduation. These sporting environments include working with Masters Hockey Wales for their summer tournaments, including the World Cup in Oxford 2012.

Laura worked within semi-professional rugby union from 2011 until 2014 with Chester Rugby union and Cheshire U16s, U17s, U18s and U20s. This involved providing pitch side support as well as strappings and massage pre and post training and matches.

In 2013 Laura started working with Accrington Stanley Football Club within their academy set up providing medical cover for training and matches of the U9-U18s teams. Laura continues to work with Accrington Stanley Academy but she has also started assisting the first team at home games with pre match preparation and massage, and being the “tunnel rehabilitator” dealing with the stretcher procedure and looking after players who have been brought off through injury.

Laura is a kind, hard working person with lots of experience in sports massage, injury assessment and rehabilitation of injuries, as well as personal training sessions.

Laura is available on Wednesday afternoons and all day on Thursdays.
